My Latest News Appearance

Well, I sent a letter to the editor of the Denver Post this week, and they printed it. Judging from the comments, I was a hit! And, when I say hit, I mean there may be a witch burning on the capitol steps this week.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/eletters/2008/04/09/a-response-to-tancredo%e2%80%99s-anti-immigrant-stance/

It's admittedly one of my more impassioned letters, where I started getting a tad poetic. I think that just ups the backlash, although, I'd have to go look at my past letters and comments to be sure...

Naomi,

You definitely wrote that looking to stir the pot, but I do admire the poetry, or maybe just balance of your simple statement.

I'll try to find a link to an article I read where the Homeland Security organization just increased the time for H1-B visas for foreigners with technical skills because there is a lack of IT trained americans to staff homeland security jobs.

talk about irony!

Since the usual rhetoric is about americans losing jobs to illegal immigrants, I find it very surprising that so many americans must have jobs picking fruit for dollars a day, or at best driving cabs.

Fortunately the Bush created Homeland Security team is making sure there are plenty of legal immigrants taking our IT jobs.

I feel more secure already.

Wow...you did stir the pot. But they went over board exposing their ignorance, which is what usually happens, so good job, Naomi.

Bush has done a great job of fear mongering these last 8 years and only served to incite the insane.

I think we should deport all the illegal Irish immigrants.

I know! Apparently, I'm going to have some house guests this weekend. I better get ready for 'em!

It took all I had not to comment on there myself and say "Okay, maybe I am alone. - sonofa!"

I knew that getting the wedding dress jacket would come in handy. Since Jef thinks you look like the white witch of Narnia you can wear it to the burning. At least you can slip out of it quickly if they try and grab you. Boy I sure am impressed how the fear mongers can drive themselves to a frenzy all by themselves. It's always easy when the object of the hate can't be seen or personalized. This is why the current administration has regrettably been so effective...it's so easy to just push 'the button' Dad

If you're going to be burned as a witch this weekend do I still have to send the deposit check to the caterer?
